What are the basic components of TTR?

Core

The core of TTR’s type usually can be divided into paper and plastic. It must be nondeformable and requires the prohibition of sliding when it is printing.

Imaging Components
In general, Imaging consists of five coatings which are top coating, printing ink coating, undercoating, base coating and back coating.

First, undercoating focuses on keeping smooth surface of printing and the consistency of printing ink when it is released from base coating.

Second, printing ink coating is the most important part. It can be used for printing and deciding the nature of utilization，such as chemical resistance and anti-friction.

Third, Base coating is the carrier of the others coating, which is the conduction of thermal conductivity.

Fourth, in a nutshell, back coating is a special coating which has been coated on the back of TTR. It focuses on the reduction of printer head abrasion and static formation and the reinforcement of thermal conductivity.

Fifth, top coating focuses on improving the adherence of printing ink with tags and environmental resistance.

Leader Tape

It is generally that leader tape is transparent or other colors. There are some following functions.

The first one is product identification, where can be used for printing the brand name, company name and trademarks. Besides that, it used for marketing promotion and selling as well.

The second one is the protective action, which is the utilization of protecting TTR.

The third one is convenience. It is convenience to install the barcode ribbon on printers.

Trailer Tape

Generally speaking, it can be taken as a warning and made response to the exhaustion of TTR from printers. The differences of printers generate different trailer tape. There are three types.

First is transparent, which is used for transmission type sensors. It allows the penetration of lights to designate the exhaustion of TTR.
Second is aluminizing coating (silvery), which focuses on reflective-type sensors. The reflected light signs the exhaustion of TTR.

Third is used for mechanism transmission. With the changed of tension, the induction of printers also sign the exhaustion of TTR.

How to select ribbons?

Barcode ribbon is a kind of new type of bar code printing supplies. It is coated on one side of mylar with printing ink and on the other side with lubricant for anti-abrasion of printer head. It mainly uses hot extension technology with barcode printer. The heat and pressure of the print head can make ribbon transferred the corresponding text and the information stored on the bar code into the label. There are many kinds of barcode, what is the reasoning for us to choosing the different kinds of ribbons?

We want to print an identification label, what is needed is a printer, label paper, ribbon. A general printer is fixed. According to the application environment of us, we can only change the print media and ribbon. The general print media is coated paper and thermal paper and so on. Printed labels just required the general abrasion – resistant and Rub – proof, the show of physical environment also more popular, the label information demand of ribbon and label is not high. Some of the labels need certain wear resistance and wear resistant ability, use environmental is relatively bad point, so that ordinary ribbon and label paper cannot meet the demand and it needs more wear resistant label paper and ribbon. Some label information is displayed in the extreme conditions, such as corrosion resistance, solvent resistance, heat - resistant but also be able to withstand repeated scratching. Ordinary ribbon and label paper cannot satisfy under such circumstances
Therefore, the label paper and ribbon we use, which is mainly decided by the using environmental, wax ribbon can be used under normal circumstances, such as supermarket, Parcel Logistics etc. If you require the colorful label, good scratch resistant performance, chemical resistance and heat – resistant fine characteristics, it requires using a more dedicated label paper and ribbon. It can only use resin ribbon in these conditions, print image is typically PVC and PET.

Obviously, select the ribbon is according to his meets of label shows. It would be awesome if it is suitable and would increase the cost than select high - end resin ribbon.
